When I’m very tired, as I am today, I often believe that drinking multiple cups of coffee, tea, and diet coke will make me feel awake and alert. This caffeine intake is not spread throughout the day. I drink the coffee, tea, and diet coke one after the other until my stomach has expanded so much that people ask me how far along I am.

The sad part is that I don’t usually feel very awake after doing this… instead I feel dizzy and light-headed and everything is dream-like and happy. Then I feel like I’m going to pass out. At this point I drink more coffee because while I might want to pass out because of what I’ve done to my body, I tend to blame the feeling on being tired.

It’s a vicious cycle and the learning curve is non-existent.
